Glen Helen Nature Preserve

Wooded preserve with trails, the iron-rich spring that named the village, and a raptor center.

Glen Helen Nature Preserve is the easiest way to understand why Yellow Springs is more than a college village. Trails lead through woods, ravines, and past the iron-rich spring that gave the town its name.

The preserve also has a raptor center that rehabilitates birds of prey. For most visitors, Glen Helen is the first stop: close to town, varied enough for a short walk, and still wild around the edges.
