Powers Auditorium is a handsome early 20th-century concert hall on West Federal Street in downtown Youngstown, home to the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra and various other performing arts events. The building dates from 1931 and has been restored to good condition; the interior retains its original plasterwork and theatrical lighting.
The Youngstown Symphony, founded in 1926, is one of the longer-lived regional orchestras in the United States. The season runs from September through May. If you are in town on a weekend and interested in live classical music, it is worth checking their schedule.
