Arbuckle Mountains Drive

The low ridges east and south of Davis make one of Oklahoma's more satisfying short drives. The Arbuckles are not high, but the folded limestone, wooded creeks, and sudden changes in elevation give the country a texture you do not get on the open prairie.

Use Davis as the hinge between Turner Falls, Sulphur, and the small roads that wander through Murray County. The best time is late spring or early autumn, when the water is running and the heat is less punishing.
