Turner Falls

Turner Falls is the reason most travelers know Davis. The 77-foot waterfall drops into a broad swimming area framed by limestone cliffs, with walking paths, caves, and picnic spots spreading through the canyon below.

It is beautiful, but it is not a secret. On hot weekends the park can feel more like a water park than a wilderness retreat, and entry rules change seasonally. Go early, bring water shoes, and check current access before building a whole day around it.

A story
The falls drop from Honey Creek over a travertine ledge in the Arbuckle Mountains, a range so old that its rocks were folded long before the Rockies rose. The result is a little geological surprise in the middle of Oklahoma: cool water, limestone caves, and a castle-like stone ruin tucked into the canyon.
