The Lazy E Arena, just south of Guthrie on Highway 74, is one of the premier indoor equestrian and rodeo venues in the United States. The 6,000-seat facility hosts the National Finals Steer Roping Rodeo — the most prestigious steer roping event in the world — as well as cutting horse competitions, barrel racing events, and major livestock shows throughout the year.
If you have any interest in Western horsemanship or rodeo, an event at the Lazy E is worth planning around. The level of skill on display at the National Finals is extraordinary; steer roping is technically the most demanding event in rodeo and the Guthrie competition draws the top ropers in the world. The arena also hosts concerts and other events when it is not in equestrian use.
