The Pollard Theatre is Oklahoma's oldest continuously operating professional theatre company, staging six or more productions annually in a historic downtown Guthrie venue. The company is known for classic American theatre and its annual production of A Territorial Christmas Carol — a frontier-era adaptation of the Dickens story that has become a regional institution in its own right.
The theatre occupies a restored 1890s commercial building that fits the surrounding historic district. Performances run through most of the year; the Christmas production sells out weeks in advance. Guthrie's compact downtown makes it easy to combine a show with dinner at one of the local restaurants in the surrounding Victorian blocks.
