Coos Bay is connected to the national highway network via US Route 101 along the coast and US Route 42 inland from Roseburg, the nearest Interstate junction. The drive from Portland takes about three and a half to four hours. There is no passenger rail service.
The Southwest Oregon Regional Airport (OTH) in North Bend, adjacent to Coos Bay, has regular flights to Portland on SeaPort Airlines, making it accessible without a full road trip. Car rental is available at the airport. The Greyhound bus network once served the bay; check current schedules for any remaining long-distance bus options.
