The Hoover-Minthorn House is a small museum with a larger story than its size suggests. Herbert Hoover lived here from 1885 to 1888 with his uncle, Dr. Henry John Minthorn, after Hoover's parents died. The house was built in 1881 and is one of Newberg's oldest surviving buildings.
Inside, the rooms lean toward domestic detail rather than presidential grandeur: family objects, period furnishings, and the plain Quaker setting that shaped Hoover's teenage years. Check opening hours before going; this is a small volunteer-run museum, not a drop-in attraction open all week.
