Cape Lookout State Park

Forested Three Capes headland with beach walking, ocean views, and a five-mile cape trail.

Cape Lookout is the strongest outdoor anchor near Tillamook: a long forested headland pushing into the Pacific, with beach access along Netarts Spit and trails through Sitka spruce and hemlock. The Cape Trail is about five miles round trip and mostly level, but it can be muddy, rooty, and slippery after rain.

On a clear day the views run far up and down the coast; in rough weather the park is more about wind, surf, and the dense green tunnel of the trail. Check current park notices before setting out, as Oregon coast parks sometimes close areas for storm damage or construction.
