Pendleton Underground Tours is the town's most distinctive stop: a guided route through rooms below the old downtown, tied to saloons, gambling, Chinese immigrant workers, and the rougher economy that grew around the railroad. It is theatrical in places, but it gives useful texture to Pendleton's frontier years.
Tours usually run from the office on SW Emigrant Avenue. Book ahead during busy weekends, especially around Round-Up season.
