The Falls Trail is the 7.2-mile loop (or 3.2-mile out-and-back variant) that passes 22 named waterfalls within Ricketts Glen State Park. Most hikers start at the Lake Rose trailhead, descend the Ganoga Glen branch on the west side, cross at Waters Meet, and climb back up Glen Leigh on the east. Each branch holds about ten waterfalls; Waters Meet at the bottom is where the two creeks join.
The descent is more strenuous than it sounds — close to a thousand feet of elevation change on steep, slick stone steps. There are no railings in most places. In summer the spray cools the canyon and you'll meet other hikers; in winter the falls freeze solid and ice climbers come from across the north-east to scale them.
