Easton's Beach, often called First Beach, is Newport's easiest full-scale ocean beach. It sits below the eastern edge of town, where the Cliff Walk begins nearby and the Atlantic feels much more open than the sheltered harbor side.
The beach is busy in summer, with families, surfers, snack stands, and the usual practicalities of a municipal seaside park. Come early for parking, or treat it as part of a longer walk that links sand, cliff views, and the mansion district above.
