The original master-planned resort community at the south end of Hilton Head Island, and still the largest. Sea Pines is built around three golf courses — Harbour Town Golf Links, the Ocean Course and Sea Marsh — and a sheltered marina at Harbour Town with its iconic red-and-white striped lighthouse. The whole 5,000-acre tract is laced with bike paths through pine and oak forest, and most of it is open to day visitors for a small gate fee.
Every April the PGA Tour's RBC Heritage tournament is played on the Harbour Town course, drawing crowds well beyond the usual island traffic. The Sea Pines Racquet Club, long associated with Stan Smith, runs clinics and tournaments year round.
