The W. H. Over Museum is the local counterpart to the National Music Museum: smaller, broader, and rooted in South Dakota and the northern Great Plains. Its collections cover natural history, regional culture, and the long habit of saving useful local objects before they disappear.
It is a good second museum stop on the University of South Dakota campus, especially if weather makes a prairie walk less appealing.
