Getting There

Port Aransas is reached via a free 24-hour car ferry from Aransas Pass on the mainland. The ferry runs continuously and takes about five minutes; queues can be long on summer weekends. An alternative route avoids the ferry entirely: drive south from Corpus Christi on State Highway 358 (the SPID) and continue across the JFK Causeway to Padre Island, then north on Park Road 22 to the Mustang Island State Park entrance and on to Port Aransas. This southern route adds distance but guarantees you a crossing time.

The nearest airport is Corpus Christi International (CRP), about 35 minutes by car from the ferry terminal. No public transport connects Corpus Christi to Port Aransas; a rental car is effectively required.
