The Waterway

The Woodlands Waterway is a 1.25-mile canal that threads through the Town Center, lined with restaurants, shops, and apartment buildings. It's the closest thing The Woodlands has to a lively urban streetscape, with pedestrian paths along both banks and several footbridges. Best in the morning or evening when the heat is manageable.

The Town Center around the Waterway has enough restaurants and cafes to fill an afternoon. The Waterway Square area at the northern end hosts outdoor events and concerts, particularly on weekend evenings in spring and fall.

A story
The Waterway gondolas are a bit of a quirk — Venice-style boats plying a man-made canal in suburban Texas. They run on weekends and feel slightly absurd, but kids love them and the ride gives a different angle on the Town Center.
