The Utah Shakespeare Festival is Cedar City's signature attraction. It runs on the Southern Utah University campus in purpose-built theatres, including an Elizabethan-style outdoor stage, and mixes Shakespeare with other classic and contemporary plays.
The festival gives the town a reason to be more than a supply stop between national parks. If you are crossing southern Utah in summer or early autumn, it is worth checking the schedule before you decide where to sleep.
