A long sandstone wall in the San Rafael Swell painted in red ochre by the Barrier Canyon people more than two thousand years ago. The figures are tall, ghostlike, and faceless, often with antennae or geometric shapes floating around them. The panel runs for about 130 feet along a quiet road through the Swell.
You reach it by a graded dirt road north of I-70, accessible to most cars in dry weather. There is a small interpretive shelter and an outhouse, and almost no one else. Go early or late: the low sun brings the figures out of the rock.
