The Manti Utah Temple is one of the most photogenic buildings in the state of Utah. It sits on a limestone bluff above the town, its cream-coloured towers visible from miles away across the flat Sanpete Valley. The style is a blend of Romanesque and Gothic Revival — unusual among Utah's temples — with twin spires that rise 60 metres above the hilltop site.
Non-members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are not permitted inside, but the surrounding grounds are open to all. The approach up the hill past manicured lawns and gardens is well worth the short walk. At dusk the building is lit up and particularly striking. Each June the temple grounds host the Manti Pageant, an outdoor theatrical production depicting Latter-day Saint history that draws tens of thousands of visitors to this small town.
