Bennington sits at the junction of Vermont Routes 7 and 9 in the state's southwest corner. Albany, New York, is the nearest major airport, about an hour away by car; Rutland and Burlington are farther north.
Driving is the useful way to visit. Regional buses exist, but the monument, museum, Old Bennington, North Bennington, and Shaftsbury stops are much easier to combine with your own wheels.
