Killington Mountain Bike Park

When the snow melts, Killington converts parts of its ski terrain into a mountain bike park, using the gondola to carry riders and bikes to the top. The network of descents ranges from wide, smooth green trails suitable for beginners to technical black-diamond routes with drops, jumps, and rock features. The park has been expanding in recent years and is now one of the more serious lift-served mountain bike venues in the northeast.

Summer and early autumn are the best times: the trails are open from late June through October, weather permitting. Bike rentals are available at the base lodge. For cross-country riders, the network of forest roads and singletrack around the resort connects to longer loops through the Green Mountain National Forest — the Catamount Trail, which crosses Vermont from south to north, passes through the area.
