Lareau Swim Hole is one of the easiest places to enjoy the Mad River on a warm day. The river here has a grassy bank, a small beachy edge, and deeper spots where confident swimmers jump from the rocks when conditions are safe.
Water levels change quickly after rain, and Vermont swimming holes are not supervised. Go when the river is clear and calm, and treat the rocks with respect.
