Norfolk is served by Norfolk International Airport (ORF), with direct flights from major East Coast cities and a number of national hubs. The airport is 8km from downtown and a taxi or rideshare takes around 15 minutes.
By road, Norfolk sits at the eastern end of I-64, which connects to Richmond and ultimately to Washington DC (about 4 hours). The Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel, a remarkable underwater crossing beneath the Elizabeth River, connects Norfolk to Hampton and the Virginia Peninsula.
Amtrak runs a daily service from Washington DC (around 4.5 hours), connecting into the broader Northeast Corridor network. Greyhound serves Norfolk from most major East Coast cities.
