The Military Aviation Museum is one of Virginia Beach’s strongest specialist museums. Its collection focuses on World War I and World War II aircraft, many restored to flying condition, and the hangars give you enough room to appreciate the engineering as well as the nostalgia.
It is south of the resort strip, so plan it as a deliberate outing rather than a casual boardwalk stop. Aviation fans can easily spend hours here, but even casual visitors get a vivid sense of how fragile and physical early military aircraft were. Air shows and flying events make the visit much more memorable when your timing lines up.
