The Long Beach Peninsula's appeal is almost entirely elemental: the ocean, the bay, the beach, and the food that comes out of the water. Walking or driving the hard-packed sand at low tide, digging razor clams, watching storms roll in from the Pacific, and eating oysters straight from Willapa Bay are the core experiences. The historic district of Oysterville at the north end is worth a drive for its Victorian calm. The Willapa National Wildlife Refuge protects the bay's extraordinary bird habitat.
