Puyallup's appeal is rooted in its agricultural heritage and its community events. The Washington State Fair in September is the city's great annual spectacle — one of the largest state fairs in the country, drawing well over a million visitors for its rodeo, rides, concerts, and famous Fischer scones. Outside fair season, the Daffodil Valley landscape is worth seeing in April when the bulb farms are in bloom, and the historic downtown has enough walking interest for an hour or two.
