Saddle Rock Trails climb straight from the edge of Wenatchee into the dry basalt hills above town. The main route gains about 885 feet in 2.6 miles, enough to make the valley open up fast below you.
Go early in hot weather and bring water. The trail is exposed, but the reward is a clean view over the Columbia River, orchards, and the city.
