North House Museum

The North House Museum is the Greenbrier Historical Society's home base, set in an 1820 house on West Washington Street. Its collections cover early valley settlement, Civil War material, furniture, and the practical objects that made this part of the Appalachians work.

It is a good corrective to a too-pretty reading of Lewisburg: the old town has charm, but it also has a hard frontier and war history behind it.
