Summersville Lake Lighthouse

Working inland lighthouse with a high deck over Summersville Lake and the Gauley hills.

Summersville Lake Lighthouse sounds like a joke until you see it. The 104-foot tower stands at a private retreat near the lake, far from any coast, and functions mainly as a viewpoint over the water and surrounding ridges.

It is not essential if your time is tight, but it adds a good oddball stop to a lake circuit. Check access before going, since the lighthouse is on private property and tour arrangements can change.
