Witches Gulch is a narrow, shadowy side canyon carved into the sandstone north of town. Boardwalks lead between close rock walls, ferns, and small curves where water and wind have done the slow work.
For most visitors it is a stop on the Upper Dells boat tour rather than an independent hike. That makes it busy, but it is still one of the clearest reminders that the Dells is a landscape first and an amusement strip second.
