Irma Hotel Restaurant

The restaurant at the Irma Hotel occupies the saloon and dining room that Buffalo Bill built in 1902, and eating here means eating in the shadow of that magnificent cherrywood bar. The food is hearty American: prime rib, buffalo burgers, Wyoming lamb chops, and a decent breakfast. None of it is going to surprise you, but the kitchen is reliable and the portions are generous.

The tourist atmosphere is real but not oppressive — locals eat here too, and the bar draws a genuine mixed crowd in the evenings. It is the right choice if you want to combine dinner with the full historical experience of the building. Prices are mid-range for Cody, which is to say reasonable. Reservations are useful in July and August.
