Uinta County Museum

The Uinta County Museum covers the local history of southwestern Wyoming — the railroading era, the ranching culture, the Chinese community that helped build the transcontinental line, and the region's Native American heritage. It is a compact community museum of the kind that does local history better than any national institution: specific, detailed, and full of objects that wouldn't survive in larger collections.

The county courthouse next door is the oldest courthouse building in Wyoming, a solid brick structure from 1873 that still serves its original function. Both are an easy walk from the downtown historic district.
