The main square is the social engine of Reconquista. By day it is shaded by tall palms and a ring of benches, by evening it fills with families, teenagers, and the slow tide of vueltas — circuits of the surrounding streets done on foot, by bicycle, and by car. On feriados, when the students come home, the noise and traffic around the plaza is unmistakable.
The cathedral sits on one side, the municipal buildings on another. It is the obvious place to start a walk around the centre, and the best place to come back to once you have run out of other things to do — which in Reconquista does not take long.
