Canoa's beach runs below the village and the red cliffs that made the place famous. It is good for a simple long walk, though some stretches flood at high tide, so expect wet knees rather than a perfectly dry promenade.
The beach is also where the village's old and new lives meet: jangada fishing rafts, beach shacks, day trippers, and kites in the wind. Early or late in the day is best.
