Built in the 1920s as a luxurious cabaret, Casa Rosa served Rio's high society before decades of decline. In the 1990s it was reborn as a cultural centre — workshops and courses by day, live concerts and themed parties by night. The building is beautiful, with a large open-air veranda. On forró nights, the dancing is close, rhythmic and unmistakably Brazilian.
