The Fontanário Municipal is the town's simplest stop: a public fountain house where you can taste the three local mineral waters. The names recur everywhere in Águas de São Pedro: Juventude, Gioconda, and Almeida Salles.
Each water has a different mineral profile, and Fonte Juventude is the famous one, known for its unusually high sulphur content. Take a small cup, try them without ceremony, and you will understand the town faster than you would from any plaque.
