Águas de São Pedro is one of Brazil's smallest municipalities, a planned spa town folded into the countryside northwest of São Paulo. It exists because of water: three mineral springs, a municipal bath house, and a century-old belief that a weekend here should leave you a little healthier.
The town is compact and deliberately gentle. The two essential stops, the Spa Thermal Doutor Octavio Moura Andrade and the Fontanário Municipal, sit close together on Avenida Carlos Mauro. Around them are leafy streets, small cafes, and the sort of tidy resort-town landscaping that tells you Águas was planned for promenading rather than rushing.
It is not a grand destination, and it does not pretend to be. Come if you like old Brazilian spa culture, family water-park days, and quiet green corners such as Mini Horto. If you are already in the Circuito das Águas or Piracicaba region with a spare day, Águas de São Pedro is a pleasant, very specific detour.
