Pico do Baepi is the classic hard hike on Ilhabela, rising to 1,048 metres above the forested spine of the island. The trail climbs through Atlantic Forest rather than open hillside, so the summit view arrives as a proper payoff: the Sao Sebastiao Channel, mainland coast, and broken green ridges of the island all at once.
This is not a casual beach walk. Allow most of a day, start early, and expect mud, heat, and a sustained ascent. For walkers who want to do more than circle the beaches by car, Baepi gives Ilhabela its mountain scale.
