Jabaquara is one of Ilhabela's most accessible beaches, sitting on the northern end of the eastern shore at the narrowest crossing point between island and mainland. It's reachable by bus or car from the ferry terminal — a short ride up the island's northern tip — which makes it a good option if you want an easy morning at the beach without venturing further. The water here is calmer than the fully exposed east-coast beaches further south, protected by a rocky point that creates the natural pools the beach is known for.
The natural pools — small rocky enclosures where water collects and warms in the sun — are particularly popular with children and with anyone who prefers calmer bathing. The beach has basic infrastructure: a few kiosks selling snacks and drinks, and parking nearby. It gets busier on weekends and holidays, but the northern location means it's often quieter than the beaches closer to town. The surrounding headland has some good snorkelling over rocky reefs.
