Mandembe Waterfall is another of Luminarias' practical day-out anchors. It is not famous in the way Brazil's great waterfalls are, but it is exactly the kind of local swimming-and-walking place that makes the town worth a detour.
Pair it with Pedra Furada or a wider Serra Grande outing if you have transport. The roads and access are part of the experience, so leave more time than the map suggests.
