A long-running buffet in a colonial mansion a short walk downhill from Praça Tiradentes. The lunch spread covers most of the staples of comida mineira — feijão tropeiro, tutu, several roast meats, leafy greens cooked with garlic — and the kitchen does each one properly. Charged by the kilo, modestly priced for the quality.
Dining rooms are small and busy; arrive before 12:30 to be sure of a table. The desserts include a particularly good doce de leite and the rich Brazilian quindim.
