Casa da Cultura occupies an 18th-century building in Paraty's historic centre, originally built as a jail and later restored as a cultural space. Inside are temporary and permanent exhibitions, a small theatre, a bookshop, and a cafe.
The visit is short but worthwhile if you are already walking the colonial streets, as the building adds local art and history to the architecture outside.
