Pedra do Corcovado

Demanding Serra do Mar hike to a high rock viewpoint over Atlantic Forest and the coast.

Pedra do Corcovado is the strongest natural anchor near São Luiz do Paraitinga: a hard trail in the Santa Virgínia section of Serra do Mar State Park leading to a rock viewpoint above the Atlantic Forest. On a clear day the view reaches toward the coast.

Do not treat it as a casual waterfall walk. The route is long, steep, and normally requires advance arrangements with the park or a local operator. If you have the time and legs for it, this is the trip that turns São Luiz from a historic town into a full-day destination.
