The Grotto of the Amaral is a small natural cave shrine accessible via the old road toward Orleans, a short distance from Lauro Müller. The grotto contains a Catholic chapel built into the rock face and is a local pilgrimage site, particularly on the feast of Our Lady of Aparecida. The surrounding landscape — Atlantic Forest, a stream, and rock outcrops — makes it a pleasant detour from the town centre.
The access road follows a route used in the early coal mining era, and several of the original stone bridges and retaining walls are still standing. It is a less frequented site than the Serra road, which suits those looking to avoid the tourist traffic.
