The Lago Igapó is an artificial lake in the southern part of Londrina, created in 1959, surrounded by parkland that has become the main outdoor recreational space for the city. The lake and its parks are where residents jog, cycle, and picnic; pedal boats and kayaks are available for hire on weekends.
The setting is pleasant: the lake reflects the surrounding apartment buildings and, in the evening, the lights of the city. The parks are well maintained and generally safe during the day. Several cafes and snack kiosks operate at the lakeside, particularly at weekends. The Bosque Municipal, a small preserved area of Atlantic forest on the edge of the lake, has walking trails and some wildlife — mostly birds and small mammals.
