Pico do Marumbi State Park protects a rugged block of the Serra do Mar above Morretes. The trails climb through dense Atlantic Forest toward granite peaks, waterfalls, and viewpoints over the coastal mountains.
This is the harder, wilder side of Morretes. Go prepared for mud, heat, sudden rain, and steep ground; casual visitors are better off with the railway and riverfront.
