Chiloé National Park protects a stretch of the island's rainy western side: temperate forest, peatland, rivers, dunes, and long Pacific beaches. The Cucao sector is the easiest access point for most travellers.
Trails range from short boardwalks to longer coastal walks. Expect mud, wind, and sudden rain even in summer; the park is more satisfying when you accept the weather as part of the place.
