Laguna Redonda

Small inner-city lagoon with a jogging loop and weekend food stalls

Laguna Redonda is one of three natural lagoons inside Concepción's urban area — the city is unusual in being threaded with these freshwater pools, a legacy of the meandering Biobío river. The Redonda is the most central, ringed by a paved jogging path of about a kilometre, with playgrounds, benches and a few cafés around the edge.

Weekend afternoons bring families, joggers and a small line of food stalls selling completos and mote con huesillos. It's not a destination in its own right, but it's a good place to break a walk through the southern part of the city and to see how Concepción lives at the weekend.
