Mohammed VI Center

The Mohammed VI Center for Dialogue of Civilizations is a Moroccan-style cultural centre and mosque on a hill above Coquimbo. Its minaret is visible from much of the city, an unexpected vertical line among the port hills.

The centre is worth visiting for the architecture and the view as much as for the exhibition spaces. Check opening hours locally, as access can vary.

A story
The minaret was built as part of a cultural centre supported by Morocco, making Coquimbo one of the few Chilean cities where Islamic architecture is a deliberate part of the skyline.
