Totoralillo is the prettier beach south of Coquimbo, with pale sand, clear water, and rocky points that make it feel more like a proper coastal outing. It is popular with surfers and day-trippers from both Coquimbo and La Serena.
Go outside peak summer weekends if you want space. The beach is worth the extra distance, but it is not a secret.
